Our artistic practice builds a bridge between the intimate and the universal to honor the duality and impermanence of our human experience.
For this exhibition we present three bodies of work: Conversations with rocks is our collaborative dialogue. Shot on analogue 35 mm film and printed on silver gelatin, these images were captured in isolated locations where we carried out gestural rituals.
All things are impermanent, even things that have all the earmarks of substance —hard, inert, solid, present— nothing is more than the illusion of permanence.
Sol’s sculptures are inspired by the stories which shape and connect us. The archetypes that inform our collective unconscious are a testament of our shared humanity, serving as a universal language to transcend boundaries of culture, language, and time.
Encounters with the Unknown is a series of underwater photographs by Tyler upon the timeless dialogue between the feminine and the ocean. Both, literally and mythologically, are the womb of the world; a gateway to the unknown that represents the ethereal and intangible realm of the unconscious.
In the words of Ursula K Le Guin: Each human being is unique, unprecedented, unrepeatable. But the notion of the 'shared humanity' acknowledges the fact that we are all in this together, bound together by a common thread of experience and emotion.
